False Positives & Security Notes

Understand antivirus warnings, verify the exact download, and keep your Windows security workflow sensible.

VirusTotal: check the exact file

The Blurred download page includes a current VirusTotal note for the published archive. The important part is to scan the exact file you downloaded, because a result is tied to a particular file and scan state. A result showing zero detections is useful evidence for that build, but it is not a permanent guarantee for every future release.

For your own verification, upload or scan the same archive you are about to install. Compare the file name and size with the official download information and avoid random mirrors or repacks.

Why antivirus software can warn

Security software sometimes flags applications that behave in ways associated with loaders, overlays, custom input, process interaction or packed binaries. A warning can be a false positive, but it should not be ignored automatically. Verify the source first, check the exact file, and review the detection name before deciding what to do next.

Do not permanently disable protection

Do not permanently turn off Windows security controls just to make an application launch. A safer workflow is to verify the file first, keep protection enabled where possible, and use an allow-list or exclusion only after you understand what was detected and why the software requires access. Remove temporary exclusions when they are no longer needed.
